Stree 2 Director Amar Kaushik Responds to Poster Comparisons with Stranger Things and Harry Potter

In a recent interview, Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik addressed the growing comparisons between the movie’s poster and popular shows like Stranger Things and the Harry Potter franchise.

The internet was abuzz after fans pointed out the similarities between the promotional material for *Stree 2*, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, and these well-known Hollywood and Netflix productions.

Amar Kaushik clarified that the resemblance was purely coincidental and explained his creative process.

Amar Kaushik on the Similarity to Stranger Things and Harry Potter

During his interview with India Today, Amar Kaushik openly addressed the controversy. When questioned about the claims, Amar explained, “If I have to be honest, I have not watched *Harry Potter*. My team has, and they constantly alert me if any scene remotely resembles another series.

As for *Stranger Things*, I have watched it, but many scenes in *Stree 2* come from deep cultural roots.”

He also delved into the climax of the film, noting how Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao, has no superpowers. Instead, his goodness and innocence were his real strengths, as seen in the first *Stree* film.

Kaushik emphasized that the idea was organic to the plot and not borrowed from any external source, including *Stranger Things* or *Harry Potter*.

The Poster Controversy

Amar Kaushik also addressed the debate surrounding the *Stree 2* poster, which many fans believed closely resembled the design of *Stranger Things*. “We honestly did not realize the resemblance,” Amar said.

“The designer created it, we liked it, and it wasn’t until later that we realized the similarity. I know the audience is more intelligent than the filmmaker. They can easily spot plagiarism. The intention was never to copy, it was coincidental. If we had known, we would have avoided it.”

Kaushik added that as a filmmaker, he respects the intelligence of the audience and understands why they drew comparisons. However, he reiterated that the similarities were unintentional.

Star Cast and Cameos in *Stree 2*

*Stree 2* not only brought back Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles but also featured an ensemble cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Mushtaq Khan, Sunita Rajwar, and Anya Singh.

Fans were also treated to an extended cameo by Akshay Kumar, as well as special appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Varun Dhawan.

The film, which had generated a lot of excitement with its first part, lived up to expectations with its thrilling plot and humor. Despite the poster controversy, *Stree 2* has continued to draw positive attention from audiences and critics alike.

Conclusion:

Amar Kaushik’s response to the comparisons between the *Stree 2* poster and popular series like *Stranger Things* and *Harry Potter* emphasizes the honesty and creativity behind his work.

While the internet was quick to point out the similarities, Kaushik clarified that any resemblance was purely coincidental and not intended as plagiarism.

With a strong cast and an engaging storyline, *Stree 2* has cemented its place as a fan-favorite in Indian cinema.

The film’s success is a testament to the intelligence of the audience, as Kaushik believes, and their ability to appreciate original content.
